Mara Constantinescu is an expert in higher education, international relations, and Latin America. From 2013 to 2016, she worked as International Coordinator for a public university in Colombia (Universidad Popular del Cesar) on the internationalization of higher education, addressing the challenges this process presents in a developing country. Previously, she worked for the cultural center Centro Colombo Americano (Manizales, Colombia) on fostering intercultural exchanges between the US and Colombia. During her studies in International Relations and Cultural Management at Babes Bolyai University (Cluj Napoca, Romania) and Lucian Blaga University (Sibiu, Romania), she worked for the European Capital of Culture program and was involved in all stages of cultural events management, from project design to project implementation. Studying Cultural and Business Management at Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (Finland) had a huge impact in adopting a culturally sensitive, interdisciplinary approach to international management, which she continued to build upon for 5 years in Latin America.
