Ovidiu Dan is a senior software developer and serial entrepreneur, with a vast professional experience in the US IT space. He is currently based in Seattle. He has been a software developer at Microsoft Bing in Bellevue, WA since 2012. Prior to joining Microsoft he co-founded three startups, of which two were successfully sold: Playfuls.com, a general news website with millions of monthly readers; Newistic.com, an automated news aggregator for business media monitoring; and GeoScaling, a DNS server offering geospatial fault tolerance and load balancing. He has also worked on projects for AT&T Labs, Microsoft Research, and Google. On the side, he also runs a video post-production facility in Seattle, with an emphasis on HDR color grading for short films, documentaries, commercials, and feature films. He has served as a volunteer for the League of Romanian Students Abroad (LSRS), the Asian Human Rights Commission, the Seattle Human Society, and the American Romanian Cultural Society.
